Fishing

I’d like to travel places and go fishing for big fish that you can’t catch in Ireland. One of the fish I’d love to catch one day is a king mackerel. I’ve caught the normal mackerel in Ireland but ever since I’ve seen one caught on TV I’ve dreamed off catching one. The Atlantic mackerel that is caught in Ireland grows to a length of 35cm to 45cm and weigh 1kg to 2kg. A king mackerel grows up to 35 inches and weighs up to 10kg.

A fish that has really caught my attention is the Goliath Tiger Fish. It Lives in the Congo River basin. It looks prehistoric with its massive sharp teeth. It can grow up to 5 feet and weigh 65 kg. The fight you get with this fish is amazing with a bit of luck you will hook the fish well but a loose hook will probably come off. They jump and thrash there head around. Once you have caught a tiger fish be careful their teeth can send you straight to hospital. Raymond Houtmans has caught the biggest ever tiger fish in 1988 it weighed. He caught the giant in a river in central Africa.
